ActiveFX™ Fractional
Laser Resurfacing

Our skin changes over time, losing its youthful look and giving way to red and brown spots, dullness, wrinkles, and sagging. ActiveFX™ fractional laser resurfacing at Tucson at Skin Spectrum yields remarkable, long-lasting results with just one treatment.

If you're ready to enhance the health and appearance of your skin, visit the cosmetic dermatology leaders at Skin Spectrum. For your comprehensive facial assessment, request a cosmetic consultation online or call (520) 797-8885.

How does the fractional laser work?

During an ActiveFX procedure, the high-energy laser light interacts with the skin's surface, causing the upper layer to peel off and regenerate a layer of new, healthy skin. These treatments affect only a fraction of the skin's surface in pinpoint columns, leaving microscopic adjacent areas of skin untouched. This allows for safer, faster healing of the skin. The more aggressive MaxFX™ laser treats the entire surface of targeted areas, but requires more recovery time.

Most of our patients also have a filler or volumizer done the day of their procedure. This combination treatment offers tightening benefits and evens out the skin in addition to filling in areas of volume loss, wrinkling, or scar tissue.

What can I expect after treatment?

The fractional technique for laser skin rejuvenation helps our clients return to their normal activities with little downtime because the treated areas heal quickly. The face takes approximately 5 days to heal, and the neck and chest take about 2 weeks. Most effects of treatment become visible right away, whereas others, such as new collagen formation, build up gradually and result in continued smoothing over the ensuing months. Improvements with the skin's texture and tightening can occur up to 18 months after treatment.
