Shedding That Summer Skin

As we transition to winter weather, it’s time to put away the bathing suits and sandals, and start thinking about shedding that summer skin damage.  Here at Skin Spectrum, we offer a variety of solutions ranging from medical grade topical regimens to lasers and medical peels.

A nice fall glow starts with the basics: a tailored topical skin regimen.  ZO by Zein Obagi, MD offers a variety of products aimed at stripping away photodamage and restoring the health of the skin.  Following the ZO motto of the ‘skin health circle’ (prevention, therapy, and maintenance), our providers will work with you to choose products that will help your skin say “farewell” to unwanted pigment and dull skin tone.  One of our favorites is the ZO HQ Starter Kit, which includes hydroquinone.  Hydroquinone helps to lift summer pigment, bringing your skin back to its natural tone, which prepares the skin for any advanced skincare treatments.

Clear + Brilliant and IPL are two great laser options to rectify your summer sun sins!  Both lasers are fabulous for lifting pigment, tightening pores, and stimulating your collagen.  If you are looking for the added benefit of improving the texture of your skin, Clear +Brilliant is a great option.  If you prefer to have a little more skin tightening, you might consider IPL.  Both lasers have minimal to no downtime with mild discomfort.

For those of us who love peels, the VI Peel offers smoother, softer, clearer, and more radiant skin.  This medium peel has minimal discomfort and little to no downtime.  As with any treatment we do for pigment, we always love to have the skin prepped for at least two weeks prior with a hydroquinone regimen as mentioned above.

Fall into beauty this season and wash away summer pigment with your own specialized plan by making an appointment with one of our providers today.

Kiss the summer sun good-bye!
