Over time, the natural process of aging depletes the body of collagen, evidenced by wrinkles, cheek and under-eye hollows, and a sagging jawline. FDA-approved Sculptra® injections provide gradual, natural looking improvement for both men and women. This injectable volumizer is typically used in combination with dermal fillers to achieve the best possible results. When you visit our well-appointed facility, our experts will recommend a combination of products and procedures designed to refresh and rejuvenate.
WHAT IS SCULPTRA®?
Sculptra is not a dermal filler, but rather a collagen stimulator comprised of a biocompatible, biodegradable, synthetic material called poly-L-lactic acid, which is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body. Through a series of treatments administered by one of our trained specialists, it stimulates the skin to produce more collagen. Sculptra works within the deep dermis to revitalize collagen production and restore the skin’s inner structure and volume. The restoration of facial volume lends fullness to wrinkles and creases, recreating the contours of youth. It is a superb treatment for patients who want subtle yet noticeable results.
WHERE IS AN INJECTABLE VOLUMIZER USED?
Administering Sculptra in the lateral facial areas creates new collagen that lifts the cheeks, fills the hollows, and firms the mid- and lower-third of the face. Specifically, Sculptra can improve:
- – Creases between the nose and the mouth, known as nasolabial folds or “smile lines”
- – Lines from the corners of the mouth to the chin, known as “marionette lines”
- – Chin wrinkles
- – Cheek hollows and shadows
- – Temple hollows
- – Flattened cheekbone contours
- – Neck and chest skin volume loss
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Some patients prefer to numb the treatment area with an anesthetic cream before the injections to minimize discomfort. Swelling and bruising are possible for a few days following the procedure, but most patients do not require any downtime.
Results are not immediate, and optimal results typically require a few treatments spaced approximately four to six weeks apart. Improvement appears gradually, usually within six weeks of the initial treatment, but your more youthful look can last for up to two years.
