For firmer skin and more sculpted contours without surgery or downtime, consider Thermage® skin tightening treatments at Body by Skin Spectrum. Skin appears naturally refreshed and renewed after a single treatment, with results that improve gradually in the following months due to the stimulation of collagen production. Collagen depletion occurs with intrinsic aging, but Thermage rejuvenates the skin by promoting the formation of new collagen. Thermage also has the unique side effect of assisting in the management of acne and rosacea.

HOW DOES THERMAGE® WORK?
This non-surgical treatment uses radiofrequency (RF) energy to heat the collagen in the deeper layers of the skin without damaging its outer surface. Thermage tightens existing collagen to improve the appearance of wrinkles and loose skin on the face, neck, around the eyes, and on the body. The gradual production of new collagen further increases the skin’s firmness over time. The result is a comprehensive, deep improvement that goes beyond the surface.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
Each touch of the ThermaTip device to the skin administers a brief sensation of heat as radiofrequency (RF) energy is delivered to the underlying tissue. This sensation indicates that the temperature of the collagen is conducive to effective tightening. The heat is followed by a cooling sensation, which protects the skin and makes the treatment as comfortable as possible. The Thermage system also incorporates vibration to enhance tolerability, and our providers can prescribe medications and/or utilize the Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide System during treatment to minimize discomfort and aid in relaxation.
Immediately after treatment, there may be some mild, transient swelling and pinkness. Studies show that measurable improvements appear gradually over the two to six months following a single treatment session, and many patients notice results as soon as two to three weeks after treatment. The improvements typically continue for the next 12 months. Some patients opt to undergo the procedure again a few months later to achieve additional tightening. Otherwise, Thermage is usually repeated yearly to maintain improvement.
