My jawline has never been my best feature, but in the last few years, it has gotten to looking more soft and a bit saggy.  It definitely makes me look older and even heavier, although I haven’t gained any weight.  It’s bothering me and I’d like to know what can be done to improve this area.

A tight, well-defined jawline is considered attractive in both women and men.  Unfortunately, we lose this tightness as we age due to a variety of factors, including genetic tendencies, loss of facial volume, displacement of facial fat, skin aging, and muscle imbalances.  Restoring a defined jawline is one of the goals when we rejuvenate the face.  Depending on the factors at play, we may recommend fillers in the upper face or directly at the jawline, Kybella to remove unwanted fat in the neck and jowl areas, a neuromodulator such as Botox or Dysport to improve muscle balance, and a laser or other energy treatment to tighten the skin.
