One of my greatest goals as president and founder of our Tucson dermatology practice is to continuously provide my patients with the latest in anti-aging and skin care technology and treatments. Whenever there is a new laser treatment on the market or a new dermal filler has been FDA-approved, I’m constantly gathering research and meeting with other practitioners to determine if it may be a valuable addition to our practice. One new treatment I’m thrilled to introduce is the Silhouette InstaLift™. To help you get a better understanding of the treatment, here are a few of the most important points you need to know.

What is it?

During the treatment, the physician places small sutures into the deeper, superficial layers of skin. These sutures have bi-directional cones on them, which assist in lifting the skin and boosting the production of collagen. Over time, the sutures will be naturally absorbed by the body, through the increased production of collagen will continue.

How does it work?

The device allows the physician to gently reposition and elevate the deeper layers of skin. We use a local anesthetic, and the incisions are placed in such a way that they will be minimally visible and heal quickly. You will see immediate results with minimal downtime after the treatment. The treatment is FDA-approved to last at least 2 years.

What are the benefits?

Many other nonsurgical treatments have been developed to treat common aesthetic concerns. For example, dermal fillers may restore lost volume in the cheeks and lips, radiofrequency treatments can tighten the outer layers of skin, and laser treatments can even skin tone. However, there are no minimally-invasive treatments that address the deeper layers of skin and tissue. This treatment can re-contour the face, lifting the deeper layers of skin for a more youthful appearance.

How can you maintain the results?
